First freelance project

So I was on a meeting yesterday with a prospective client for my very first freelance project.

I was really nervous at first. Not because I might not be able to close the deal, but because I don’t have any idea what to do.

I don’t even have the slightest idea on what to do first. Hahaha

But when the conversation started, it was going well. She explained to me the business model, the different transactions, and the features she needs for the system. And me, I was like drawing ERD’s (Entity-Relationship Diagrams) to confirm to her the things she needed in her system.??

Everything went well, until we came to the most difficult part of closing the deal: How much will it cost?

And I honestly don’t know. I assessed the system, and remembered the things my friends and workmates told me about project pricing and stuff. But I still don’t have any idea how much.??

So what happened is, I told her a range of the price she can give me basing on the complexity, the design and the functionalities of the system. And I let her decide how much she’s gonna pay me when she sees the finished system. She told me she will give me the max price if she’s very satisfied with the project. And I was like, “Oh, you are not only gonna like it. You’re gonna LOVE this.” (on my head). Hahaha…

I mean it is my first project, and might as well give all my best on it, right?

And I’m so thrilled to start doing the project. I already have a lot of ideas stuck in my mind and waiting to be implemented, and coded.

This is the start of greatness. 🙂

And also, I’m learning Objective-C and on building Cocoa-based applications for iPhone and iPad apps. I’m also excited on doing this, so after this first project, I’m going back to coding mobile applications (its Apple’s turn now). hahahah
